Investors who are concerned they're overexposed to Nvidia could replace the name with these steady growth stocks instead, according to Trivariate Research's Adam Parker. "If NVDA reports that demand is still robust as far as the eye can see, owning AI-exposed semiconductors remains prudent," Parker said. "For those looking to hedge their aggressive AI-semiconductor bets, this group appears prudent," Parker wrote. Berkshire Hathaway surfaced as a large cap growth stock with low correlation to Nvidia , that's also able to beat the market. Charles Schwab was another large cap growth stock with low correlation to Nvidia.

Just last week the S&P 500 hit a new all-time high and notched its best showing in a year. But this nearly unprecedented surge in the markets is sparking some concern over what’s driving the rally and whether it can continue. The S&P 500 and Dow last week each reached record levels after blockbuster earnings from the chipmaker set off a broad market rally. The S&P 500 is up more than 6% for the year, but when you equally weigh all of the stocks in the index, it’s up just 2.5%. Last year, the S&P 500 rose by 24.2%, but the equally-weighted index was up by just 11.6%.

A cyclical slowdown has to come unless you’re in the camp that thinks structural growth of the economy has risen dramatically. We don’t think that’s the case. Do you think that’s the case? A new stock pick from the 93-year-old Buffett almost always leads some investors to follow suit, quickly moving the share price. Berkshire has been a longtime shareholder in credit rating agency Moody's , and bought a big stake in Citigroup in early 2022. The last financial stock Berkshire bought was Capital One Financial in the first quarter of 2023. If the new stake ever exceeds 5% of whatever stock it is, Berkshire would be required to report its holding with the SEC. Buffett might be asked to reveal the identity of the mystery stock at Berkshire's annual shareholder meeting in early May.

Occidental Petroleum and Diamondback Energy may be poised to rally after U.S. crude oil prices broke above a key resistance level on Friday, according to the chief market strategist at Miller Tabak. "If crude oil rolls back over, breaks below that level — that's going to tell you that I'm wrong. "And that tells me that if he's buying a stock that's highly leveraged to the price of oil, he believes oil prices are going higher."
